The resin is high capacity against acidic as well as basic media. Physicochemical properties of the resin are examined. Sorption capacities of the heavy metal ions on resin are found to be quantitative in the pH range of 1.0-7.0. Sorption kinetics of metal ions on the resin is studied. Under competitive conditions the system shows higher selectivity of Cr(lll) ,Cr(Vl) .The sorption characteristics for Cr(lll) ,Cr(Vl) are studied with a view to utilizing the resin for the removal of Cr(lll) ,Cr(Vl) as well as pre concentration of Cr(lll) ,Cr(Vl) ions from waste water sample by column operation.||Ritesh H. |4||A Bird’s Eye View of the American War LiteratureAbstract – If war is broadly defined as armed conflict between two conflicting factions, states, or tribes, then one would have to say that war has always been a part of human experience and is perhaps even a defining characteristic of human beings. Many people have pointed out that peace presents special difficulties. It is harder to define than war and it is more difficult to cultivate and maintain. Aside from being the absence of war, peace is often understood to include the stable presence of law, order, and justice. Law, for instance, is the product of centuries of patient human experience gained throughout the history of a given society. Justice is the fruit of reflection on the way humans relate to one another in society. A learned sense of justice cannot be acquired overnight. Social order follows from understanding, specifically from awareness that reliable, established patterns of behaviour are useful to both individuals and societies.||Preeti B. Bhatt|
|5||Birth Gender Ration in GujaratAbstract – Generally sex ratio is determined against number of females per 1000 males. Comparison of males and females of all age groups has shown less percentage of female, per 1000 males. The main reasons of which are external migration related to livelihood and marriage, heavy and scanty rains, earthquake, war etc and they are subject to emergent national factors. In any given region, if female ratio per 1000 males is less due to such reasons, it can not be regulated by any restriction of the law because migration for the purpose of livelihood or nuptials or for any situation due to above said factors is an absolute right of every citizen pronounced in the State Constitution of India. So incidence of fewer females per 1000 males for such reasons is a social and economic problem.||Rashmika J. Shah|
|6||Elements Shakespearean ComediesAbstract – The strategies described in this article can help you read a comedy, but how are you going to know whether or not the play you are looking at is a comedy? Don’t worry, there’s a simple solution using only the title of a play — and it works for almost every play by Shakespeare! If the play title has the name and a number in it, it is most likely a history (Richard III, Henry V). If the title of the play has either a pair of names or a single name, but no numbers, it is probably a tragedy (Romeo and Juliet, Othello, Hamlet). If the title of the play has a phrase or saying in it, you can bet that it is a comedy (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As You like It, Measure for Measure). Shakespeare wrote most of his comedies early in his career; perhaps it is no mistake that the plays he penned in his youth deal with young people rebelling against the social order of their parents’ generation, while in the tragedies and romances he wrote at the end of his career, the theme is often of children betraying or refusing to obey their parents. When Shakespeare was writing romantic comedies, the other playwrights of his era were too, and when he later began focusing on tragedies, it was also part of a large shift in the theatrical vocabulary around him. This shift (from comedies to tragedies) corresponds to the change in England’s politics as James I succeeded Elizabeth I on the British throne. Elizabeth, the “Virgin Queen,” had refused to marry, and all of England was concerned about what would happen to their society if she died without an heir. Perhaps it is because of this that the plays of Shakespeare and his contemporaries during her life glorified marriage and the positive transformative effect it could have had on the society around it. During the early part of Shakespeare’s career, the adult playing companies were primarily based in large, outdoor theaters, but midway through his career they began to move into the indoor playhouses that had once been occupied by children’s companies. It is possible that the noisy hubbub of the outdoor playing spaces required more festive, boisterous, celebratory comedies, and that the indoor playhouses, with their more refined audiences, allowed for the more nuanced tragedies and romances.||Vimal Trivedi|

The study aims at ascertaining the frequency of access, place of access, access mechanism and also search strategy used by users. A survey method was adopted, which comprises self designed questionnaires and distributed through purposive and stratified random sampling method among the users. It also gives the present member’s strength of the N-LIST programme. On the basis of filled up questionnaires received from the respondents, data has been analyzed and tabulated using SPSS software.||Mahesh R. Solanki|
|8||A Conceptual Approaches to the Metadata HarvestingAbstract – This paper introduces conceptual approach for analyzing issues with metadata harvesting. The approach considers metadata work as an activity that shapes the way metadata is created and used in individual administrative contexts. Over time, governments can adopt and adapt metadata formats in different ways, which can lead to harvesting issues. This is illustrated a analysis of the issues encountered with harvests of Dublin Core from digital libraries. The analysis shows how the different histories of each library led to different metadata implementations, and thus to issues with the harvest. We suggest that Dublin Core metadata harvesting can be a two-stage process, requiring manual alignment and normalization in addition to automated harvesting, and conclude that metadata harvesting is supported by a clear understanding of data provider’s history.||Ms. Indira Dodiya|
