Each of these functions has relevance for programmes of modernization. Hence, the formal education if imaginatively and purposefully employed can be a powerful instrument of Modernization. The education today is linked with development. Education is the main agency for the development of attitudes, interests and values and the teacher is its main agent. The class consists of different types of students and they differ in their interest, JQ, attitude, achievement etc. Some students change with the changing time, some don’t. There are certain causes behind this kind of difference in attitude. The present study attempts to find out the causes which influence their attitude and creates obstacles in the process of modernizing. There are certain variables which affect their attitude towards modernization. |3||A Study of the Opinions of Science Teacher about the Current Text Book of Science and Technology for Standard 10Abstract – Text book is an important part of a curriculum. It is the best teaching mean. It directly comes in the hand of the students, the students refers it as ‘Bhagved Geeta’ referred by Hindus and Quran referred by Muslims. Therefore its quality is most important. The text book is prepared according to the curriculum. Some times neither teachers nor students know about the curriculum but they know it by the text book. The teacher teaches I and evaluates in the limitation of text book. So in teaching learning process, the teachers and students are mostly depend on the text book. In science, many inventions are done and the knowledge of science is expanded day and night. So it must be updated. From this study the researcher wanted to know the qualities and limitations of the text book of ‘science and technology’ of Std.-10. It can help us to make the text book best. |5||Relationship of Creativity and Achievement Motivation of Senior Secondary StudentsAbstract – This study aimed at finding out relationship between Creativity and Achievement Motivation of Senior Secondary Students. A sample of 640 students selected randomly from the various schools of Haryana State. For the study Thinking Creatively by Words (TCW) Dr. BagerMehndi and Achievement Motivation Test of V.P.Bhargavawere used for data collection. The result revealed that there is no significant relationship between creativity and Achievement motivation. Creativity and Achievement motivation of government senior secondary school students are not correlated with each other. The result also revealed that achievement motivation of government senior secondary school students do not differ significantly on the basis of their level of creativity. Achievement motivation mean scores of high creative and low creative students of Govt. Senior Secondary Schools do not differ significantly. |6||Competency Based Teacher Training ProgrammeAbstract – The Constitution of India provides for free and compulsory education for all children upto the age of 14 years. Educational reformers and researchers planned so many schemes to achieve the goal of Universal Primary Education. Besides this, developing and developed countries joined hands and pledged to have ‘Education for All’ in the 20th century. Yet, today in the 21st century which is called ‘Information Age’ much still remains to be done, particularly in rural parts of India. Literacy does not stop with acquiring three R’s but goes further in developing the innate talent of children. Both qualitative and quantitative aspects of education, especially in densely populated country like India, should get equal stress in all efforts.
One cannot be compromised at the cost of other. The major focus in education for the masses needs to be done on the teacher and the taught. Children have to be moulded and guided for development of their innate talents and for that purpose, the teacher must possess the required competencies, skills and bent of mind which can be cultivated by promoting competency based teacher training programme at all the levels of teacher education. Competence is nothing more than an improved modern term applied to an ancient human value. Applied to teachers, competency means the right way of conveying units of knowledge, application and skills to the students. The right way includes knowledge of contents as well as the process, methods and means of conveying them in an interesting way, involving the activities of children. In short, a competent teacher makes the teaching-learning process a joyous experience for children and also for himself/herself. Competencies are classified under 5 major categories: (i) Cognitive Based Competencies; (ii) Performance Based Competencies; (iii) Consequence Based Competencies; (iv) Affective Competencies; and (v) Exploratory Competencies. Teachers’ competencies to raise students’ achievement have also been discussed.

|7||Relationship of Academic Anxiety among Adolescents in Relation to their Home EnvironmentAbstract – Anxiety amongst adolescent boys and girls is very common and natural. Be it about self, career, academics or any other issue, the youths undergo feelings of anxiety at some phase of their lives. Academic anxiety is a kind of anxiety which relates to the impending danger from the environments of the academic institutions including teacher and certain subjects like mathematics, science, English etc. it is a mental feeling of uneasiness or distress in reaction to a school situation that is perceived negatively. Home is very important for adolescents. All the intellectual, moral, physical, social, emotional and educational needs are fulfilled at home. The environment created at home accelerates or retards the development of the child and influences the achievement and aspiration of the child. In context of these views the following research is conducted to find out the relationship of academic anxiety and home environment. A sample of 120 subjects was randomly selected for the present study, out of which 60 students were from urban area and 60 from rural area. For the study Home Environment Inventory by Karuna Shankar Misra (1989) and Academic Anxiety (AASC) by A.K Singh and A. Gupta (1984) were used for data collection. The result revealed that the Academic Anxiety and Home Environment scores of adolescents correlated significantly.||Dr. Ajay Kumar|
|8||Relationship between Home Environment and Study Habit of Senior Secondary School StudentsAbstract – The present study was conducted on 100 secondary school science students to find out the relationship between study habits and home environment of the science students studying in secondary school of Haryana. The results of the study revealed that a significantly positive relationship of home environment components of rejection with study habits of boys is revealed, there by meaning that It can be affected the study habit of boys. However, the correlation of other components of home environment is significantly negative with study habits among boys. The study also found that there was no significant difference of home environment between boys and girls studying in science stream of senior secondary school. |9||Marital Adjustment Problems of Working and Non-Working Women in Contrast of Their HusbandAbstract – Marriage in reality is a way of living. It is not always full of roses; but its success depends upon adjustment on the part of both the partners involved. With the rise in the number of dual-career families, the adjustment and marital relationship are major challenges in most of the families. This study aimed at finding out marital adjustment problems faced by Non-working women and working women teachers of Bahadurgarh city. A sample of 80 women (40 non-working women and their spouses and 40 working women teachers and their spouses) is selected randomly. For this study Marital Adjustment Jnventory developed by Dr. Harmohan Singh, Department of Psychology R. B. S. College, Agra (1987) was used for data collection. The result revealed that non-working wives face more marital adjustment problems in comparison to their partners. Secondly working women teachers faces marital adjustment problems in a greater degree to that of non-working women. We can say that working women because of the added responsibilities of job may suffer from more severe causes of maladjustment at home or in the office.||Ms. Rinku Rani|
|10||Creation of Various Devices or Aids and Their Effectiveness in the Teaching of Measurement Units (Area-Volume) of Mathematics of Standard SevenAbstract – As the entire situation is being transformed with time, the teacher will have to develop the efficiency of creating teaching aids, using audiovisual devices in teaching as well as making use of more than one aid of teaching. As mathematics, among all subjects is abstract and dull, it becomes difficult on the part of the teacher to inculcate certain mathematical concepts in children. It becomes easy on the teacher’s part to make students understand certain difficult mathematical concepts, if the teacher makes use technological teaching aids also in mathematics, as in other subjects, such as T.V., Computer, film projector, overhead projector, tape recorder, V.C.D., V.C.R. and telecommunication. The lively and humble nature of the child is active. Thus, if brightens up on getting an opportunity to learn through activity and experiment. The child gains confidence if it gets an opportunity to learn through activity in mathematics. The belief that mathematics is only a subject of counting will no longer remain and the child will no more have a dislike or prejudice towards mathematics. Today, as there is a reality of teaching aids in mathematics in primary schools the quality of teaching has declined.
